- Much of the wheat crop in Kansas and western Oklahoma doing much better
than last year, despite the April freeze
- Agricultural areas in southcentral Texas progressing ahead of last
years rate. There has been abundant moisture in this area. Corn condition
is rated at 84% of normal, compared to 58% last year
- Decreased greenness in the Snake River Valley when compared to last
year, due to wet conditions
- Vegetation in most of the east-central area showing decreased greenness
when compared to last year. This area has had weeks of cool, wet weather
- Most vegetation in the cornbelt is progressing equal to or behind
last years rate, except southern Illinois and Indiana, were too much
rain and cool conditions have slowed crop development
- Much of Southwest forested areas and gresslands greenner when compared
to last year
